Learn to Dance
Dance has been a universal language in human experience through generations and brings together some basic elements of humanity. Its creative act, fine-tuned movement and collaborative approach certainly impacts the way we think and interact with one another.
At Ycats our sessions are designed not just to enhance technique and performance among our members; but to build necessary life skills. Classes typically begin with devotion and discussions, followed by full-body warm-up combining pilates and technical exercises; and culminates with a blend of expressive choreography designed to challenge dancers both physically and artistically.
The junior level programmes focus on creative movement, motor skills, loco-motor skills, basic modern vocabulary , and dance etiquette; while fostering a joy of movement through dance.
Our Intermediate and senior programmes incorporate moderate to extensive repetition and strength building, complemented with varying styles of modern and contemporary dance technique and creative choreography.
Our choice of music and routines are age-appropriate and classes may focus on one genre of dance or include a fusion of styles such as contemporary, lyrical, Afro/Caribbean folk, hip hop and Jamaican dancehall/reggae.
